Within the last decade, a previously unseen phenomenon has occurred with increasing – and disturbing – regularity. Beings are rising from the dead, not as undead constructs that a wizard would raise and use temporarily, but awakened corpses with sentience, will, and constitution of their own. It is unclear what magic is causing this, as it does not seem to be localized to locale or race.
