The workers’ district; a laborers neighborhood. Narrow winding streets end in busy cul-de-sacs, the decor of hanging silks and murals brightening the lanes and buildings. Enterprising residents run homely restaurants and cafes out of their yards and homes; housewives and househusbands make extra money with side businesses based on trade skills. The sight of chickens or over-abundant gardens in yards is fairly common. The area is boisterous and full of lively, hard-working lower middle class citizens.
