The jewel of the world

The capital city of Angoria, Aideum sits at the country’s southernmost tip, overlooking the Pyli channel, a narrow expanse of water that separates Angoria from northern Variya. It is believed that all the worlds’ currents flow to the Pyli.

Every major deity and cult is represented in Aideum, either by splendid temple or backroom congregation. The Five Houses rule a sprawling empire and the palace of the First House sits in glory atop the cliffs overlooking the channel. Beneath the city, deep in the rock, a sanctuary holds an ancient wellspring of natural magic that brings forth twin rivers that run through the city, up the cliffs then cascade into the waters below.

It is a city of splendor where magical engines light the streets and drive industry. Where gold flows like the waters of the rivers, and entire fortunes are won and lost. It is home to merchant princes and personal armies, and amongst the chaos the everyman makes their living.

Aideum is separated into four boroughs: Inner Aideum, Outer Aideum, Waterfowl, and Rivermead. Inner and Outer Aideum are located on top of the cliff, accessible via long overland roads or through means of ascension via Waterfowl and Rivermead. Both districts have their own mechanical elevators and ancient stairways, as well as a Scryfall presence for teleportation circles and gate spells for the affluent customer.
